  I have been to Otsego Memorial hospital twice. The first experience.....
  I came into ER ill and on oxygen. The first person that greeted me was very nice. A younger guy who was polite, well spoken, and had an actual conversation with me. Then walks in a nurse who was extremely cold, and seemed to absolutely hate her job.
  The doctor that treated me that night did not take my concerns seriously. It was a female doctor.
  Second visit.....ER again. I had a cut that required sutures.
  The same nice, younger guy at the desk. Still consistently kind.
  The doctor this time was male. He was much nicer than the female ER doctor. He talked to me and explained what was happening the whole way through it.
  I would not recommend this hospital though. It is inconsistent with care. I hold my treating physicians to a high standard though and I feel like others tolerate things that have become the norm. Things like not talking to their patients, not explaining procedures, acting as if you are an inconvenience, etc. I have seen and been to much more caring doctors. It took me a long time to find an excellent physician for primary care. I found that doctor in Traverse City. I have spoken with many people in the area who are unhappy with the care they are receiving through Otsego county. One person that is actually happy. That says a lot.
